Flipkart shipping label size: 225 × 355 pt, measured
Ask five sellers and you get five answers — 4 × 6, 3 × 5, 75 × 125 mm — because nobody is measuring the same thing. This page measures the label, separates it from the media it is printed on, and states which numbers are measured and which are still unverified. It is the reference behind Flipkart label crop.
The short answer
The label block on a Flipkart sheet — the part that goes on the parcel — measures 225 × 355 pt. That is 79.4 × 125.2 mm, or 3.13 × 4.93 inches. It sits inside an A4 page (595 × 842 pt), because Flipkart sends one A4 sheet per order with the shipping label on top and the tax invoice underneath.
Two different numbers are quoted for “Flipkart label size” because two different things are being measured. The label is the 225 × 355 pt block. The 4 × 6 inch figure is the thermal label stock it is usually printed on, and that stock is larger than the label: 288 × 432 pt. Neither number is wrong, and neither is the whole answer.
One caveat, stated plainly: Flipkart does not publish a label specification, and these numbers come from the Flipkart sheets this tool has measured and cropped, not from a Flipkart document. If your file is a different layout, check it in 30 seconds instead of trusting the table.
Why the listings disagree: 3×5, 5×3, 4×6 and 75×125 mm
Search for the size and you get label-stock product pages quoting 3 × 5, 5 × 3, 4 × 6 and 75 × 125 mm, plus a Flipkart seller API reference that gives no dimensions at all. Those are printer-roll and stationery measurements, not label measurements:
- 4 × 6 in (101.6 × 152.4 mm) is the most common thermal label stock in India, landscape or portrait depending on the roll.
- 3 × 5 in (76.2 × 127 mm) is a smaller stock often sold as “courier label”. A 225 × 355 pt label does not fit it at full size — the width is 3 mm too narrow.
- 5 × 3 in is the same stock as 3 × 5 in, listed the other way round.
- 75 × 125 mm is the closest stock to the measured label: 0.2 mm off in height, 4.4 mm narrow in width.
So the practical rule is: the label is 79.4 × 125.2 mm, and the stock must be at least that. 75 × 125 mm comes within 4.4 mm of the width and will clip the right edge if the label is printed unscaled; 4 × 6 in has room to spare. If the seller prints 4 × 6 and the label looks small on it, that is not a mistake — it is the label plus white space.
The numbers, in every unit
| Unit | Flipkart label block | 4 × 6 in thermal media | A4 sheet the label arrives on |
|---|---|---|---|
| Millimetres | 79.4 × 125.2 mm | 101.6 × 152.4 mm | 210 × 297 mm |
| Inches | 3.125 × 4.93 in | 4 × 6 in | 8.27 × 11.69 in |
| Points (1/72 in) | 225 × 355 pt | 288 × 432 pt | 595.28 × 841.89 pt |
| Pixels at 203 DPI | 634 × 1001 px | 812 × 1219 px | 1678 × 2374 px |
| Pixels at 300 DPI | 938 × 1479 px | 1200 × 1800 px | 2480 × 3508 px |
203 DPI is the resolution of most Indian thermal label printers; 300 DPI is the step up, and it matters for the small SKU text rather than for the barcode. A barcode printed at 203 DPI at the label’s real size is perfectly scannable — a barcode printed at 203 DPI and then scaled down to 80% is not.
The invoice half is a different size
The tax invoice is not a separate page and it is not the same size as the label. On the sheets we measure it runs the full 595 pt width below the dashed cut line, down to about 742 pt from the top — 595 × 360 pt. It is printed sideways, so when the cropper splits it onto its own page it turns it 90° to 360 × 595 pt, which reads properly on a portrait page.
That rotation surprises people. A cropped invoice that looks upright on screen and prints upside down is a printer orientation setting, not a bad crop.
Barcode and quiet zone
A barcode needs a clear margin around it — the “quiet zone” — and a printer leaves a non-printable border of 3–5 mm. Put those two facts together and the failure mode is obvious: crop hard to the content, print to the edge, and the first bar of the barcode lands on paper the printer cannot reach.
What we can state from our own output: the cropper puts the label block on its own page with an 8 pt margin top and bottom, and the block itself already includes the barcode’s space inside Flipkart’s layout. We have not run a formal quiet-zone measurement against a scanner specification, so we are not going to quote one. If a barcode will not scan, the usual causes in order are print scale, print density, and a crop from a different marketplace layout — not the quiet zone.
Flipkart label variants: what we could verify
Sellers ask whether Flipkart Plus, F-Assured, Smart Seller or FBF labels are different sizes. Here is exactly what this site knows, including what it does not:
| Variant | What we could verify |
|---|---|
| Standard forward label | Measured: 225 × 355 pt inside an A4 sheet with the invoice below the cut line. |
| FBF box label | Handled on /flipkart-fbf with the same 225 × 355 pt block and a 90° invoice. We have not compared it against a second FBF file, and there is no published Flipkart specification to check it against. |
| F-Assured | Nothing. We have not seen an F-Assured sheet. If yours differs, use custom margins and tell us what it measured. |
| Flipkart Plus | Nothing. We have not seen a Plus-specific layout. |
| Smart Seller / bulk labels | Nothing variant-specific. A sheet is a sheet: if it is the measured A4 layout, the preset applies. |
How many labels fit on one A4 sheet
For an A4 sticker sheet, the workspace offers 2, 4, 6, 8, 9 and 12 labels per page. The geometry that actually fits without shrinking the label is four:
- 4-up: two columns and two rows of 225 × 355 pt blocks need 450 × 710 pt of the 595 × 842 pt sheet, leaving 18 pt sheet margins and a 12 pt gap. Full size.
- 2-up: two blocks stacked, one column. Full size, lots of unused sticker paper.
- 6-up and above: three or more rows of 355 pt is taller than the sheet, so each block is scaled down to fit its cell. That shrinks the barcode, which is the thing you least want shrunk.
If the goal is fewer sheets, print 4-up. If the goal is a scannable barcode on the first try, print 2-up or thermal.
Printing at actual size, briefly
Thermal 4 × 6 and A4 inkjet both work, and both fail the same way when scale is not 100%. In a browser print dialog that means turning off “Fit to page”, “Shrink to fit” and “Fit to printable area”; in a driver it often means the same thing under a different name. The full set of settings, plus the test print to run before a 200-label dispatch, is in how to print Flipkart labels — it does not need repeating here.
Check your own label in 30 seconds
- Crop one page with Exact cropOpen the label PDF in the Flipkart cropper, set Pages to “First page only” and Print layout to “Exact crop · original dimensions”.
- Read the output page sizeDownload the cropped file and open it in any viewer that shows page size. A Flipkart sheet that matches the measured template comes out at 225 × 371 pt — the 225 × 355 pt label block plus an 8 pt margin top and bottom.
- Measure the print, not the screenPrint one label at 100% scale and measure it with a ruler: the label content should be about 79 mm wide and 125 mm tall. Anything smaller means the print dialog scaled the page.
- If the size is different, the layout is differentA different output size means your file is not the layout we measured. Switch Crop area to Custom crop margins rather than forcing the preset.
That is the only always-correct answer: measure the file you actually have. Crop your first page and read the output size — it is faster than comparing five product listings.

Flipkart label size questions
Is a Flipkart label 4 × 6 or 3 × 5?
Neither, strictly. The label block on the sheet is 225 × 355 pt — 79.4 × 125.2 mm. 4 × 6 in is the thermal stock sellers print it on, and 3 × 5 in is a smaller stock that clips a full-size label on the width.
Does the invoice page have to be printed?
No. The label goes on the parcel and the invoice goes inside it, so they are usually printed on different stock. Keep the invoice PDF for GST and returns, and print label pages only when the invoice is going in the box.
Can I print Flipkart labels on plain A4?
Yes — two or four labels to a sheet, printed at 100% scale on sticker paper. It is slower than a thermal roll and it is fine for low volume.
Why is my barcode cut off at the edge?
Because the page was cropped to the content instead of to Flipkart’s measured block, or because the print dialog scaled the page. Use the Flipkart preset, print at 100% and check the white edge before a batch.
Which size do I use for FBF box labels?
The FBF page uses the same 225 × 355 pt block with a 90° invoice. We have not verified an official FBF specification, so print one test label first.
What pixel size should a Flipkart label be?
At 203 DPI the block is 634 × 1001 px; at 300 DPI it is 938 × 1479 px. Those are the label’s own pixels — the 4 × 6 media is 812 × 1219 px at 203 DPI and 1200 × 1800 px at 300 DPI.
